Gloucester breakwater

Category: Gloucester,Winter — Ian C. @ 12:41 pm

It’s still Winter time, and there’s still Snow on the ground, but today is (just) above freezing, not much wind, and lots of Sun – so we took a drive out to the ocean and a walk along the Gloucester breakwater:

A close look at the construction is impressive – many Granite boulders, with pins preventing higher ones slipping over lower ones!

Looking towards Boston over the Atlantic Ocean – here the wind is blowing cold and sufficient to put us off walking all the way to the end of the breakwater:

(if you click to full size and look at the horizon halfway across the picture, you can see the shadowy outline of the Boston skyline)

  2. It’s only a couple hundred yards – and believe it or not, the pics were taken with my iPhone!

  4. Oh!
As the seagull flies, I think about 20 miles, maybe a bit less.
