Down here at 8002, there are few birds and even less other animals – we’ve seen geckos/lizards before but they’re all missing now, and we’ve never seen mice, voles, etc. So there’s very little for Chloe to chase and catch, but she finally found something last night:

She rushed in with the worm in her mouth and dropped it on the rug, but then didn’t know what to do with it after that! After a few minutes I rescued it and took it back outside (we’d planted a few bushes yesterday which is no doubt how Chloe found the worm)

Chloe is prepared to play a little this afternoon, but keeps close to being able to dive back under the bed if she feels worried …

Within a week, that “fish bird” will have no yellow fur on it!

Chloe’s thick fur coat means that she’s not too keen on hot sun – but she wants to enjoy sunbathing, so she lays very close to sunny spots in the house, in the winter time:

Chloe is quite curious about the new plastic plants under the mirror in the living room – part of Margarets ongoing decorative touches:

As we slowly get our new furniture in to the nearly finished living room, we expected Chloe to be bothered by it all – cats don’t like change. But instead, she instantly adopted the new chair and ottoman as her own!

As I laid a blanket down for Chloe to sit on, she moved early and climbed in instead! There’s a fire going so it’s not cold, but she prefers this:

After all the workers and construction recently, Chloe remains happily settled on “her” blanket, as if nothing has changed!

A common pose for Chloe, “hiding” under a tree while watching and listening for anything – like the little vole she brought home still alive recently (that BIT me when I rescued it!) …

There’s a colorful blanket laid on the bottom of the guest bedroom – it’s clearly the preferred way to walk across the bed to a view out through the window, and the “cat footprint” dimples reveal the secret!
