Here, mid 70s, sunny and dry!

Meanwhile, Massachusetts has loads of rain and mid 30s (but at least it’s not snow!):

A beautiful golden sun set behind trees in our garden this evening …

At first we thought it was a tiny Hummingbird on the Buddleia, only an inch long – but then realized it was an incredibly well disguised Hummingbird Moth! Not only does it look like a little bird, but it flies like one too – and in bright sunshine:

Even though it’s already mid 70s with strong sun, I spotted dew remaining on the grass this morning – because the humidity is so high I suppose!

94 degrees on the way home, and quite humid – much the same if we were in Florida, except down there we have a/c!

Nice weather today, a little cool for May but clear skies and dry … I took a couple of panorama photos which you might enjoy …

Here is in front of our house; the garden is beginning to get color, and the trees in the area are just starting to open their leaves:

The other view is of Goose Cove reservoir at the end of our street – the trees are not really green yet, but the reservoir is full from all that snow we had!

Another breakfast / lunch visit to Willow Rest, and another chance to admire and buy fresh veggies!

A big storm system moving up the east coast dropped loads of snow in some parts of Connecticut, but almost missed us. Overnight we got maybe 4″ but of really light fluffy snow that took little time and effort to clear …

Overnight the wind blew strong and the snow kept coming down – I measure a total of 12″-14″ but drifting deeper or less all over the place! The problem is that overnight snow was wet and heavy, dragging down many branches (which is what caused our 16 hour power outage, of course!)
Here for instance; this bush normally stands tall and tight but now it’s half the height:

Elsewhere in the garden, the conifer branches all droop precariously, and in the front one branch threatens wires:

It took me more than an hour this morning to clear paths from the front door, and dig out the Audi (Margaret’s BMW is still on summer tires so no point digging that out yet!); here is the “before” picture – as always only part of the street is plowed, so more snow has to be dug out …

Once dug out though, the roads were basically passable, much better than Newcastle a month ago!

No plans for a picnic any time soon …
