I took this video of the end of Epcot fireworks last week, but it seems appropriate to link to it now, as Margaret and I head back North at the end of our “long vacation” in Florida …

Green Orange

A couple months ago, Margaret began planting at 8002, including this little Orange tree:

It’s still less than two feet tall, but it does have a single Orange – though still green for now:

As we leave tomorrow, and don’t know when we will be back at 8002, it’s possible we won’t see this ripen (other Oranges on the tree have all fallen off as it seems to dedicate itself to just this one fruit!)

It’s time for flowers at Celebration again!

KSC Up Close

Today we visited the Kennedy Space Center, in particular the Up Close tour which, right now, includes a look inside the enormous Vehicle Assembly Building (and a surprise bonus)!

Lots to see as well as that tour, such as this International Space Station mural:

Or try laying in a mock-up Apollo Command Module:

We couldn’t get close to the beautiful Astronaut Memorial this time, so instead time to head off on our tour, beginning a long way from the VAB but getting ever closer …

… and then, inside!

A huge building! It made the Space Shuttle stored inside look quite tiny:

Later the tour continued with a drive-by launch pad 39A where many Shuttles left Earth:

This close-up shows the gantry used by Astronauts to enter the Space Shuttle:

After stopping at the Atlantic Ocean and seeing Alligators we end at the Apollo Saturn V Center, enough of a stop on it’s own to use up a few hours!

And in the distance, the ever present and huge VAB …

Return to Legoland

Our previous Legoland trip (here, here) saw most of the park but we returned today and saw the newly opened Fresh From Florida exhibit, more Lego models but this time inside a greenhouse … I liked this display of orange picking:

Also spotted this Alligator that we’d missed last time!
