Margaret & I chose a different sort of vacation this time - 1000 miles of driving with no flights, airport delays, or other hassles!
We headed north into Maine, and spent “slow time” seeing beautiful scenery and enjoying fabulous weather ![]()
There’s over 140 pictures in the Gallery, or you can peek at a few highlights here … as always, click any pic for a bigger version.
Most of our trip was up the coast, so there’s lots of pictures of harbors & coastal scenery. Such as:
Inland at Acadia there was lots more water, including a wonderful (but hot!) three mile walk around Jordan Pond, with stone steps over streams into the pond, and a tree-covered boardwalk:

Many animals too, including a snake at Jordan Pond, seals during the boat trip out of Bar Harbor, and Alpacas at Winters Gone farm:

Other great things included an out-of-the-way jigsaw puzzle store, and all the B&Bs we stayed in (including at Bar Harbor and at Kennebunkport on the way home), the Kennebunk Plain - unusual since most of Maine is tree-covered - and the Penobscot bridge with aerial views from the top:

A great trip ![]()
